If your picture of Utah music stops at the festival headliners, look at the small-room bills. SLUG’s October Localized coverage lists Wicked Temple, Vicious Souls and Warm Veins at Kilby Court on October 22, 2026.

Wicked Temple brings a story of persistence. In Jaia French’s September 30 interview for SLUG, the band described years spent building its identity around work, families and the decision to keep playing. The lineup profiled includes Brandon Arthur, CK Arthur, Brad Schatz and Jackson Barlow.

Vicious Souls arrives with a different timeline. French’s companion profile describes veteran players whose current lineup came together after years of changes. The band told SLUG it was recording toward an EP it hoped to release before the end of 2026. That is a stated aim, not a confirmed release date.

Neither group needs to be mislabeled a brand-new band to deserve discovery. The interesting development is the chance for unfamiliar listeners to find established local musicians on an intimate bill, alongside Salt Lake’s Warm Veins.

The date is a published listing, not a report from inside the show. Check Kilby Court for final event details before making plans.
